An ecological campsite is mainly characterized by the protection of the environment and the promotion of ecological activities. Today we come to tell you what it is like to live in our campsite located in Benidorm committed to the environment.
Camping open all year round
Come and have fun and enjoy the family outdoors
What is an ecological campsite?
Both in Spain and in other European countries, the trend of ecotourism is gaining ground to other types of holiday stays.
It is estimated that the number of families who enjoy their holidays in the middle of nature already exceeds 30% in Spain. However, there are those who go a step further and not only bet on a natural environment, but prefer accommodation committed to nature. Since this allows them to teach their children to take care of the fauna and flora. Therefore, our campsite is one of them. We care and try to teach all our customers the importance of conserving the natural environment.
An eco-friendly campsite is an environmentally friendly way of camping. It is characterized by the use of natural or biodegradable materials. Its objective is not to damage the natural environment in which you are camping.
The difference with a traditional style campsite is that it has zero impact on nature. We try to ensure that all facilities are as in line as possible with the environment. So that this supposes a decrease in the comfort of our clients.
Why should you visit an eco-campsite?
If you are looking for a holiday in the middle of nature, our campsite is undoubtedly the best option. Here’s why.
1. Energy efficiency
Benisol has made an important investment this season in the installation of more than 150 solar panels that produce up to 60 kW / p. In addition, it is planned to install more photovoltaic panels for electricity consumption and thermal heating of water. This will be a greater benefit for our new building which will contain a gym and a social club that will be mostly autarky. Thus contributing to the reduction of air and noise pollution, and helping to combat global warming.
2. Zero plastic and recycling policy
The eco-friendly trend invites the use of materials that can have more than one use or that are biodegradable. Such as cardboard straws, bamboo cutlery or compostable cups.
A few weeks ago, we spoke with Benidorm City Council and they granted us permission to build a recycling area that we will place at the entrance of the Campsite and thus be able to meet our objectives of recycling as much waste as possible.
3. Renewable energies
Our goal is to completely abandon the use of oil heating systems and invest in the latest heat pump technologies for the supply of hot water and run our pools with renewable energy.
In addition, we have purchased new shower systems that reduce water consumption by more than 70%. Shower time will be limited to five minutes per guest per day. Obviously, there is still more shower time, but we have decided to put an economic supplement so that everyone questions whether an extra minute of hot water is really necessary.
Benisol, the ecological campsite with an ecological pool
The activity of swimming in a pool requires water consumption, which means that you will produce environmental impact. Therefore, using a clean and well-maintained pool reduces the environmental impact produced by your activity.
As you know, swimming pools require periodic maintenance and cleaning to ensure the hygiene and safety of bathers. Therefore, it is common to use chlorine, a chemical element used in water purification and disinfection. Thanks to chlorine, bacteria, fungi and viruses can be eliminated and avoided in freshwater pools.
But chlorine, as we know it so far, is not the only option when it comes to treating pool water, but there is the possibility of filtering with saline chlorinators, thanks to them we can preserve the environment and save on water consumption.
In our facilities we have two swimming pools, one covered and one uncovered. This year, we have decided to go a step further and renovate our pools and make them more ecological, installing a pump of saline chlorinators.
In short, an ecological campsite is a quiet and pleasant resting place, suitable for all audiences.A way of being in contact with nature, being aware that we are not causing any harm. If you are fond of camping, your next step is to try an eco-camping, we assure you that the experience will be so positive at all levels that you will want to repeat.
We are waiting for you at Camping Benisol, where respect for the environment is as important as the comfort of our guests. Not surprisingly, we have the eco-camping seal, one of the most reputable in countries such as Germany, Italy, or Croatia.
